Eat More Fat — It’s Good For You!

I recently ate out at a well-known UK steakhouse with my family.

This is what I had:

  • Full Rack of BBQ Ribs with Skinny Fries
  • Two Pints of Ale.

Followed by

  • Triple Chocolate Brownie (with vanilla ice-cream)

I don’t normally eat this kind of food, but as we’d just sprinkled my father’s ashes, we went to the nearest restaurant.

I was really looking forward to it. I was hungry, I was emotional.

Then just as I was about to tuck in, I noticed (or rather my sister noticed) the nutritional information on the menu.

That killed me before I’d even started.

Here’s the calorific breakdown for a Full Rack of BBQ Ribs, with Skinny Fries followed by Triple Chocolate Brownie plus two pints of beer

  • Ribs: 1392 Calories (Fat 67.7 g, Carbs 88g, Protein 70.9 g)
  • Brownie: 845 calories (Fat 19.1g, Carbs 104.4g, Protein 9g)
  • Beer: 400 calories (Fat 0g, 13g carbs, 1g protein)

Total: 2637

My daily allowance blown in one sitting.
