Help! I’m Addicted To Medium

I started writing for Medium in Dec 2019.

Then I stopped.

No one read my stuff, no one followed me, no one responded, no one cared. My commission per month was less than a bus fare.

So I cancelled my membership, only submitting pieces when I had absolutely nothing else to do.

I was done with Medium.

Two years go by.

The farm I work on is always quiet in winter. I’ve got nothing to do. Plus it’s raining.

I revive my membership and start writing. After a few false starts, I publish this:

It got curated (I thought it was pretty boring), but it gave me heart. People had read it, even commented, I earned a few quid.

I started writing and published more. But once again started falling into the trap of writing about writing. Like:

No one gave a shit. Why would they? It’s boring.

So come on, Phil. Think!

What makes you tick? What do you really hate? What pisses you off? You’re meant to be a writer, aren’t you? If you can’t even make a tenner on Medium, you’re dumber than I thought!

So I banged out these over Feb.
