I first came to France in 1994 to study from the UK under the Erasmus program. Now doomed because of Brexit.

I spoke nothing but French for six months, and returned to the UK half fluent.

I didn't return to France properly till 2015, where I now live. I speak well now, but I've never learnt as fast as I did in those six months in 1994.
