I worked at UK festivals for years in my 30s. All the big ones plus smaller ones. This was fifteen years back now, but the big ones were a scam and a stitch up. At one large one I worked at, we stacked Pepsi in the fridge instead of Coke. I kid you not, the security were on to us like a tonne of bricks, and took all Coke products away, and gave us a last warning. Why, did this happen?Because the previous festival we were at, they had an agreement with Pepisco....

Of course, they are great for seeing bands, but as an ethical, green, hippie music festival (possibly Glastonbury aside—although that's more corporate these days) nothing of the sort. It's a money making machine. Which as long as you know that, is fine.

PS. Scott-Ryan, You're probably, going to say, there's a story in that. Yes. There is. But I'm still waiting for The Riff to add me to their list, so I can submit my First Ever Gig Piece, you suggested I write, which is ready to go!.....nudge wink wink. Are you on the staff?
