If there's one thing France has more than most countries is bookshops. Every town still has an independent bookshop run by real people - like not a chain. True, there's the above mentioned FNAC - French! But in my town there are two bookshops packed with books. You can even order them for no extra cost. Which turns out cheaper than Amazon, sometimes.
