Interesting piece. I live in Normandy and work on a dairy farm Friday, Sat. Today it was definitely meant to be sunny. Le Meteo said last night it was going to be sunny all day. I planned ahead. Outdoor work. Guess what? Rained all day!!

So what happened? Did they lie?

The farmers round here never trust the weather service—they say they can tell the weather without it.

They say the weather service always make it sunnier than it actually is to make the tourists feel better, so they don't cancel their day's out the night before.

I don't agree with this, but it's a nice idea.

A White Lie.

So was the weather service out to deceive the inhabitants of Normandy. Or were they just being nice?
