JG Ballard, one of the greats of late twentieth century English literature, is regarded in literary circles as an oddity. This is despite Martin Amis and will self regarding him as one of their inspirations. Why? Because he was pigeon holed as a sci fi writer. Yet, he's written some of the most intuitive books ever. Equal to Asimov, Dick, Herbert. I'm a fan.
