Lovely piece. Really enjoyed it. You make food sound special when you write. Rather than just another commodity or something to do in the evening. I rarely eat out for reasons, you say. But mainly, and I'm not showing off here, it's rare I eat something I can't make 4 times as well. In fact, the only thing I do eat out for is steak frites and croque Monsieur. Two of the most basic French dishes, but two things I can never cook better than I get in a café, bar or restaurant. Why, I don't know.
