No. It's not a waste of time, I agree. It's an article to challenge the idea that all travel is good, no matter what, and we should all travel as much as possible. That's dumb. It depends on your character, for one. My auntie is 80, and she's hardly left her home town. Perfectly happy life. Her dad, my great uncle, travelled extensively round the world, she didn't. Why? No reason.

As for cruises—yeah, what a dumb way to spend anytime on Earth.
