One of the biggest myths of the last ten years, is recycling. It goes that if you recycle, you are helping then planet. If you take all your garbage to the recycle point (in your car) you're doing good.

BUT how about if didn't have all this plastic in the first place. Because the plastic/paper/card has to be transported, sorted, transformed using energy and chemicals etc etc....

It's a joke. I see all these busy middle-class folk pedantically sorting all their recycling out into the relevant boxes when if they hadn't bought that stuff in the first place, the planet would thank them. But we told recycling is good—so they can keep on producing plastic and packaging.

Do you know what I do? I burn it. Why? Because I live in the country, if I take it to the recycle depot, it's 10 km away...
