Sometimes the best are where nothing actually happens. Take James Joyce. In Ulysses. Does anything actually happen. No. Not really. But that's not the point. It's an examination of the human conscious. Can be hard reading. But should reading be easy. That book I mentioned. Carlo Emilio Gadda. Not easy but fascinating.
