What Am I Doing Here?
Ever felt like you’re wasting your time!
It’s that time of year again when I start wondering why I have pains in my abdomen. Did my boss get his Christmas card? And why isn’t my wife talking to me?
Death, unemployment, and divorce have all been shooting around my head these past few days. But none as pressing as the BIG ISSUE on my mind.
Should I quit Medium?
Should I stop wasting my time writing pieces like this, and do something more constructive with my free time (aka, life)?
As I’ve mentioned before, if I just stopped today, and never wrote another post, no one — I mean no one — would care.
So why do I do it?
I hardly make any money from it. It affects my job, my marriage, and my health more than I would like. Most of my pieces are slapstick humour full of knob gags. The rest are mundane ruminations about my family or tales of eating offal in France and Spain.

Thing is, writing kills time. Lots of it! If you want to waste a few days (years), start writing: it’s guaranteed to burn a hole in that thing called life. One day you’re a bright bushy tailed 20-year-old. The next, you’re nearly 50 with…
