What Happens If Your Writing Is Worse Than You Thought
Or worse still, worse than AI
Most commentators I’ve read over the past few months agree that AI programs like ChatGPT aren’t very intelligent. More glorified search engines that can find and regurgitate information very quickly.
Capable of writing an article on 2001: A Space Odyssey, but not clever enough to chuck you into space. Because at best, all they do is drag up a load of stuff other people have written on the movie, without having an opinion on it.
This is where humans come in.
This is where 2 million years of human evolution make a difference. Because however bad you think your writing is, it’s never as bad as an AI-written piece.
AI can't think. It can’t discriminate between good and bad. So you’re always one step ahead. That box in your head always wins.
But What Happens If I Can’t Write Better Than AI?
This was a question someone brought up in a comment recently. It went along the lines of
“If AI can write an article better than me. Why should I waste my time?”
