Why Do Top Medium Writers Never Respond?
And should I delete them?
You know who you are.
You get all the claps, the comments, the views, the followers, and the cash. But where’s my reply to that finely balanced counterargument I left in your response box five weeks ago?
Not even a clap.
It’s like sending a letter or an email to your local politician and getting an automated reply: Thank you for your enquiry: We will look at it in due course.
You’d expect that from a politician. But I thought the point of Medium was to engage. Foster a community spirit among all writers. From the folks who are just happy to read and not write. To the so-called big Medium writers.
Is it too much to ask? I’m not expecting a handwritten gold-plated parchment delivered by carrier pigeon. Just an acknowledgement.
It’s irritating when you’ve replied time and time again to the same writer, only to get nothing back. Especially when the writers make their money from: HOW TO MAKE IT ON MEDIUM!
You wouldn’t believe how much stuff I’ve read on the benefits of engaging with your audience, only for the engagement on their part to be zero.
Perhaps they’re too busy working on their next Pulitzer Prize article?
