You've nailed it! The thing is, it's impossible to listen to all the ever made – so why bother!

This is Spotify's business model. But it sucks. As you've said, there's no glamour or excitement in it. What SPotify does - and YouTube - is make music just another commodity. It dulls it down to the level of an Instagram photograph.

- But you know, and I know, it's so much more than that. It's history, culture, art, nostalgia, pleasure all rolled into one. Can Spotify rival that? NOPE! I was in a charity shop in town, the shelves were stacked with an endless array of CDs for cence a pop! I bought a handful. That's the new spotify!
